Henry was a chicken farmer from Virgina during WW1. That all changed after high school. Henry enlisted in the US air force at the age of 18. He became a B-24 copilot and during his 15th mission his plane is shot down. He lands in France just north of switzerland, a nutral country. He is taken to Switzerland and then agrees to let the Maquis (pronounced ma-KEE) help him get to allied terrortory and get him back to the states. This is one intense book so strap in and get ready for takeoff.
